Succubus in Wonderland

What happens when a regular guy falls down a well and wakes up in a world run entirely by succubi — that's the setup for Fushigi no Kuni no Succubus, a 2-episode OVA from 2023 that leans hard into its Alice in Wonderland-adjacent premise while making absolutely no secret about what kind of anime it is. Once he lands in this mysterious realm, he gets taken under the wing of a succubus princess named Louise, who agrees to help him find a way home. Of course, getting back isn't straightforward — the world is full of succubi with very different ideas about what to do with a human visitor. The fantasy setting is genuinely built out, with distinct characters and a mood that keeps things feeling adventurous rather than purely transactional. The animation blends lush fantasy visuals with adult content in a way that feels intentional rather than lazy. If you enjoyed the world-building curiosity of Interspecies Reviewers or the chaotic otherworldly energy of Fushigi Yugi, there's something here that scratches a similar itch — just with considerably less clothing involved. It's adapted from a game, which means the character designs have a lot of personality baked in from the start. At only two episodes, it doesn't overstay its welcome. Go in knowing exactly what it is, and it delivers a surprisingly coherent little fantasy romp alongside everything else it's offering.
