Synopsis
Two average high school guys suddenly find themselves caught up with some of the most sought-after girls on campus — including Mizuho, a confident senior who just returned from abroad, and Mikura, their classmate. Neither guy is exactly a social powerhouse, so when the attention starts coming their way, things get complicated fast. The setup is pretty straightforward: attractive, popular girls, unremarkable guys, and a whole lot of tension that doesn't stay bottled up for long. Each episode tends to focus on a different girl and what pulls her toward temptation, which gives the 12-episode OVA a kind of anthology rhythm — you get a new dynamic each time without losing the central thread. The animation holds up well for a 2006 production, and the dramatic framing actually commits to the emotional beats between characters rather than just rushing past them. It's adapted from a manga, and that source material gives the character interactions more texture than you might expect from the premise alone. If you've watched Accelerando: Datenshi-tachi no Sasayaki or Discipline: The Record of a Crusade and liked how those handled character-driven setups within the genre, Stringendo hits a similar note. It's not trying to be subtle about what it is, but within that space, it takes the relationships and consequences seriously enough to stay engaging across its runtime.
