Packed into a single adult OVA with a lot going on are two girls with two very different problems. Ichigo Chocola Flavor is a 2-episode anthology from Studio 9 Maiami, adapted from manga, where each episode pairs up two self-contained stories centered on female leads with distinct personalities and situations. First up is Kaede, a cheerful high schooler whose love of hot springs leads her to wander into a mixed-gender bath without a second thought — naivety has consequences. Then there's Miwa, a clean freak who makes no effort to hide how much she dislikes her male classmates, which predictably goes about as well as you'd expect. The anthology format keeps things moving — no slow burn, no long character arcs, just distinct setups that each go somewhere. If you've watched something like Ane Koi or Kanojo x Kanojo x Kanojo and appreciated short-form adult storytelling with a bit of personality behind the characters, this scratches a similar itch. It's lighter in tone than something like Boku no Yayoi-san, leaning more into everyday situations rather than heavy drama. The charm here is that both protagonists actually have defined personalities before things get going — Kaede's obliviousness and Miwa's bluntness give each segment a clear identity rather than feeling interchangeable. Short, self-contained, and character-forward for what it is.
