Spirit Realm Walker
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Just some regular dude living an unremarkable life, Zhang Yuanqing gets everything upended when a mysterious black card shows up and turns him into something called a 'night-wandering deity.' Sounds cool on paper, except now he's being thrown into spirit realm dungeons — think supernatural death traps full of bizarre entities, shifting rules, and the kind of challenges where one wrong move can end you. The dungeons themselves are honestly the draw here. They're not generic monster-filled caves; each one has its own logic, its own dangers, and figuring them out feels like watching someone solve a puzzle where the pieces are actively trying to kill them. On top of that, Yuanqing quickly realizes he's stumbled into a much larger conflict between factions fighting over control of these spirit realms, and telling friend from enemy isn't exactly straightforward. The whole thing has this tense, paranoid atmosphere where the modern urban world and the supernatural layer on top of each other in unsettling ways. If you liked the dungeon-crawling tension of Embers (Yujin Xingzhe) or the blurred-reality vibes of Mi Yu Xingzhe, this ONA from Motion Magic is working in similar territory but with its own power system and a protagonist who's figuring things out as he goes rather than being handed a manual. Based on a web novel, set for 2026 — worth keeping on your radar if you're into supernatural survival stories that lean more into mystery and suspense than pure action spectacle.
