kushina_kunoichi★★★☆☆EP 1The karaoke scene was a bit loud, but seeing Madoka and Miyamoto recognize each other made the transition to the hotel feel way more earned than usual for these stories.
One OVA, two short stories, and a pretty straightforward premise: people meet, there's chemistry, and things get intimate. That's the whole setup for Soushisouai Note The Animation, a two-episode adult OVA from T-Rex based on Fukudahda's manga. The first story follows Asoka Madoka, who runs into someone she already knows at a karaoke outing with friends. When the rest of the group pairs off and disappears, Asoka and Miyamoto are left alone, and the two of them pick up where things left off. The second story shifts to Ai-chan, a girl with a very specific fixation on scent, who has her eye on a classmate named Namikawa. After school, with nobody else around, they get some private time together. Neither story tries to be complicated. The appeal here is in the character dynamics; both episodes lean into the idea that there's already some history or tension between the leads before anything happens, which gives the scenes a bit more grounding than a cold setup would. The animation holds up reasonably well for the genre, and Fukudahda's source material has a reputation for readable, character-forward storytelling. If you've watched something like Aneki My Sweet Elder Sister The Animation or Kanojo x Kanojo x Kanojo and appreciated that style of short-form adult OVA with light character framing, this fits comfortably in that space. It's a short watch, no filler, and it delivers exactly what it's advertising.
Yurie Nakatsu: A main female character introduced in Soushisouai Note's second volume.
Madoka Asaoka: Volume 2's key female character; her role significantly impacts the story's progression.
Ai Shindou: Soushisouai Note's vol. 2, chapter 2 protagonist.
Rikimaru Noriko
Mitsuru Miyamoto: Volume 2's key male character, chapter 3 protagonist.
kushina_kunoichi★★★☆☆EP 1The karaoke scene was a bit loud, but seeing Madoka and Miyamoto recognize each other made the transition to the hotel feel way more earned than usual for these stories.
michiru_kaioh_370★★★★☆EP 1Ai-chan having that specific smell fetish made the second half of the episode feel way more personal to me and the way she was getting all flustered in the empty classroom was actually kind of sweet even for a series like this while the animation quality for those specific close up shots looked much better than the karaoke part earlier
panda_power_138★★☆☆☆EP 1it felt like the first couple rushed into the hotel way too fast but their interaction still felt pretty sweet during the actual scenes
mamoru_chiba★★★★☆EP 1the way ai chan was sniffing namikawa after school was actually kind of cute and weird at the same time and the animation for that part looked really polished
orihime_oracle_103★★★★☆EP 1The jump from that awkward karaoke meeting straight to a love hotel was a bold move and I enjoyed seeing the art style stay so close to the manga drawings
melty_monarch★★★☆☆EP 1It made me happy to see a proper adaptation of this manga because the way Ai-chan acted around Namikawa after school was so cute and weird at the same time
jet_black_177★★★☆☆EP 1Having such good voice acting during the hotel segment was a surprise, and it really helped sell the connection between Asoka and Miyamoto.
zamazenta★★★☆☆EP 1Watching the karaoke scene felt so much more natural than most shows because it gave Miyamoto and Asoka a chance to actually talk before they headed to the hotel
yoruichi_yukiko★★★★☆EP 1You can tell they put a lot of work into the character expressions when Ai-chan was doing her thing in the classroom and that smell fetish angle was handled way better than usual
kamaitachi_killer_60★★★☆☆EP 1Asoka Madoka looked great and seeing her interact with Miyamoto in the hotel stood out because the animation quality actually stayed consistent throughout the scene
yuno_yukikaze_139★★★★☆EP 1They really nailed the manga art style and Asoka looked incredible. Having her and Miyamoto just click after their friends left the karaoke bar was a nice change of pace from most of these shows. Usually these things feel rushed but the hotel scene had some genuine chemistry between them and it made the romance feel more grounded and believable.
flower_flute_499★★★★☆EP 1I really liked the second half with the smell fetish stuff and seeing Ai-chan get so flustered in the empty classroom was the best part of the whole thing
sailormochi★★★★☆EP 1The classroom scene with Namikawa and Ai-chan had some really good tension and it was fun seeing her obsess over his scent like that
jean_jester_110★★★★☆EP 1That transition from the karaoke room to the love hotel was so smooth and the character designs are exactly what you want from a Fukudahda adaptation
yurei_yamato★★★★☆EP 1I felt like the karaoke scene was a great way to start because it made the connection between Asoka and Miyamoto feel more earned than just a random hookup
tsubaki★★★☆☆EP 1Yurie and Natsumi basically hunting those younger guys at the start was kind of a wild way to show how the different groups in the class operate
muichiro_misty★★★☆☆EP 1I wasn't expecting Ai to be so intense about her scent fetish, but watching her get so flustered around Namikawa in the classroom was actually kind of cute. The whole premise of these girls just doing whatever they want is a bit much, but the chemistry between Madoka and Miyamoto in the hotel room felt surprisingly natural for a show like this today.
m1ndc0mm4nd3r★★★☆☆EP 1That karaoke setup was crazy and Madoka just leaving with Miyamoto like it was nothing was a cool way to start things off
blue★★★★☆EP 1Ai getting so worked up over Namikawa and his scent in that empty classroom was definitely different because her reaction felt so specific and weird
yuffie_kisaragi_402★★★★☆EP 1Madoka just going for it at the love hotel without any weird stalling was easily my favorite part of the whole episode
