Synopsis

Someone wades alone through water, carrying something inside them — a seed that feeds on guilt and grows heavier with every step. That's the core image of Sin, a music video for the band cotoba, and it's the kind of thing that sticks with you longer than you'd expect from a few minutes of animation. The whole piece is abstract and symbolic. There's no dialogue, no traditional plot. Just a person moving through a dreamlike space while this seed — born from their sins — drinks in the water around them, swelling, becoming something almost divine. The weight of what they've done doesn't drag them down. It becomes the thing that pushes them forward. By the end, they've transformed into something else entirely, a god shaped by their own guilt. The animation style is fluid and immersive, matching the introspective tone of cotoba's music — clean guitar work, layered vocals, rhythms that pull you in sideways. It all blends together into something that feels more like a meditation than a music video. If you've ever zoned out watching Kenshi Yonezu's "Lemon" video or found yourself replaying Eve's "Kaikai Kitan" just for the visuals, this hits a similar nerve. It's also got some of the moody, atmospheric quality of Aimer's "Brave Shine" video, though way more abstract. It's short, it's beautiful, and it'll probably make you sit quietly for a minute afterward thinking about things you'd rather not.
