Silent Chaser Kagami

A string of unexplained deaths is sweeping through the city, and nobody can explain it. The culprit turns out to be a vengeful spirit — the ghost of a young woman who's been draining the life force from her victims. When conventional law enforcement hits a wall, a specialized paranormal investigation unit steps in, led by a seasoned occult expert named Kagami. He's the kind of guy who's seen enough of the supernatural that none of this particularly surprises him, which gives the whole thing a grounded, procedural feel underneath the horror setup. The early portion of the story focuses on Kagami and his team piecing together what they're dealing with — the nature of the spirit, why she's targeting men, and how you even begin to fight something like that. It's dark and atmospheric, leaning more into suspense and mystery than you might expect from a hentai OVA. If you've watched something like Demon Beast Invasion or Bible Black and wanted the horror framing to actually carry some weight, this one puts a bit more effort into building tension before things escalate. La Blue Girl fans will recognize the general territory. It's a single-episode release from 2000, adapted from an adult visual novel by Bunny Pro, so don't go in expecting a sprawling narrative — but as a short horror-adjacent experience with a paranormal investigation angle, it's a more interesting premise than most entries in the genre bother with.
