At the end of the world, newly transferred hospital nurse Akao Misuzu finds herself in a place where some mysterious illness has pushed society to the edge. Inside, the work is grim: caring for patients who aren't going to make it. Misuzu takes that job seriously, maybe a little too seriously. She offers her patients something beyond standard care, and the mortality rate on her shifts is... notable.
