I think Shusaku looks even more deranged than the old versions and seeing him creep around the dorm pretending to be Kato was actually unsettling

you can definitely feel the weight of his grudge against these girls in every scene and that soundtrack building up during the dorm confrontation is creepy as hell

shusaku being back to his old tricks in high definition is something else and seeing him target Eri first was the only way this could have started

that sequence with the old mans masochism was such a weird turn for this series and it makes shusaku feel even more like a complete lunatic

You really see the madness in his eyes when he starts his plan, and Takabes look of confusion when things start going south makes the whole dormitory setting feel very claustrophobic

shusaku is a total freak for how he managed to trick everyone in the dorm into thinking he was Kato and that first encounter with Eri had me staring at the screen in shock

I couldn't look away from eris face when she started to suspect something was wrong because the visual detail on her expression was miles ahead of the old school version

Shusaku treating Eri right out of the gate is absolutely brutal and you can tell he has been planning this specific revenge for a long time since the last series ended

I remember the old Shusaku games and seeing this new version of the first night is actually pretty intense. The animation is a huge step up from the old OVA, and it makes his whole revenge plot against Eri feel way more sinister than it did before. He just slides into that Kato role and it is genuinely unsettling and I was really into it

Watching those girls realize the resident manager isn't who he says he is feels like a total car crash and it makes the atmosphere so much more tense than the average show

I think seeing the updated art for Shusaku is so weird after growing up with the original pixelated stuff and his disguise as Kato really set the mood

That scene where Eri catches him and thinks she won only for him to double down on his revenge is such a dark twist

This episode was pretty dark, and the masochism theme they keep mentioning really sets a weird tone for the rest of his revenge plan against Eri

I really did not expect the way it looks to be this good for something from 2000, but PinkPineapple actually put some effort into the art and Shusaku is such a creep so watching Eri try to outsmart him was the highlight for me, especially since it feels like a cat and mouse game even if you know where things are going to end up

That old guy is pure nightmare fuel and the way the music builds up while he stalks through the dorm is genuinely creepy to watch

Shusaku is actually terrifying when he pulls that face and you can tell he is totally gone by the way he stares at the girls near their rooms

I think Eri is going to regret getting in his way because that ending looked like it was going to get way worse for her

That old man is a straight up demon for what he did to the girls tonight and it definitely lives up to the extreme title

It really bothered me how easily he slipped into the resident manager role and the psychological aspect of him humiliating the girls is just way darker than I remembered

The way Eri suspects something is wrong right away adds a lot of tension and watching Shusaku navigate that dormitory is stressful
