Synopsis
Two things connect Shinobu and Momoko even before the story begins: a childhood kiss on a playground and a promise to find each other again. Fast forward to high school, they're reunited, but Momoko has completely forgotten any of it. Shinobu hasn't. That gap between one person holding onto a memory and the other having moved on entirely is where this 3-episode OVA lives. Shinobu is the charismatic delinquent type with a string of admirers, while Momoko is buttoned-up, disciplinary committee, very much not interested in Shinobu's flirting. Their dynamic has real tension to it, not the manufactured kind, but the kind that comes from two people who want fundamentally different things, at least on the surface. The all-girls school setting gives it room to breathe as a yuri story without constantly justifying itself, which is refreshing. The soundtrack leans on classical pieces, which gives the drama a slightly theatrical weight that works better than you'd expect. If you've watched Sasaki and Miyano and wanted something older and more overtly romantic, this scratches a similar itch around the push-pull between two mismatched people. Fans of Girls Love stories with some genuine emotional stakes rather than pure wish fulfillment will find more to hold onto here than the short runtime suggests. It's a compact story. don't go in expecting a slow burn across dozens of episodes. Three episodes, one central relationship, and a childhood promise that refuses to stay buried.

umizato_unicorn★★★★☆EP 1That mermaid legend story in the art room felt way more depressing than the actual show and it makes me wonder if Shinobu is going to disappear if she finally says how she feels
mimete_383★★★☆☆EP 1finding a yuri show that stays pure without adding guys is such a win and the setup with the forgotten childhood promise makes the romance feel way more grounded
griffith_the_hawk★★★★☆EP 1Momoko being a member of the disciplinary committee makes her such a great foil for Shinobu, and you can already tell how much the clash between their personalities drives the plot.
james_345★★☆☆☆EP 1the change from the fire extinguisher scene in the manga to a punch felt a bit weird but the actual chemistry between the leads still works okay for a first episode
franky_fiesta_65★★★★☆EP 1it is actually kind of sweet how much Shinobu still cares about that promise from ten years ago and the way she flirts to get a reaction is pretty funny
kaminari_chargebolt_126★★★☆☆EP 1my heart broke a little when Shinobu realized her childhood friend had no idea who she was and that kind of emotional weight is not what I expected from this genre
lana★★★★☆EP 1Shinobu is easily the best part because she carries so much loyalty for that one playground moment while Momoko is just living her best life as a hall monitor
ryuk_reaper_113★★★★☆EP 1It is actually so rare to find a series like this that stays purely focused on the girls without any of the usual weird tropes or guys getting in the way, so I am really digging the vibe so far. The tension between Momoko being so energetic and Shinobu just pinning after her is great and it feels more like a real drama than just a random adult video.
yuki_onna_yuki_76★★★☆☆EP 1seeing Momoko just completely blank on the childhood kiss was a brutal way to start their dynamic and you can see why Shinobu acts out so much now
mamoru_chiba★★★☆☆EP 1you can tell Shinobu is hurting when Momoko treats her like just another delinquent and that unrequited love vibe is surprisingly strong for a show like this
jonathan_joestar_196★★★★☆EP 1I really liked how Shinobu keeps holding onto that childhood promise even though Momoko totally forgot everything and it makes the early scenes feel so much more meaningful for a hentai
yuu_ishigami★★★★☆EP 1Shinobu remembering that childhood kiss while Momoko has no clue who she is actually hurts, I feel so bad for her.
sharp_279★★★★☆EP 1seeing shinobu act like a total player just to get momokos attention is kind of sad when you realize she just wants her childhood friend back
quincy_quiver★★★☆☆EP 1the art style is totally unmistakable if you know the artist and they really did not hold back on the explicit parts at all
professor_magnolia_334★★★☆☆EP 1momoko being a serious student council type while shinobu just flirts with everyone is such a classic dynamic and it works so well here
alvavalva★★★☆☆EP 1I can't believe how intense that first scene was and the sound design made it so much more awkward to watch in my room alone
zirconia_386★★★★☆EP 1it is actually wild how different they are now compared to those kids on the playground and Momoko ignoring the promise feels like a knife in the chest
shaytheotaku1★★★★☆EP 1Maya and Kirin are definitely going to make things complicated for Shinobu because you can tell they are not just going to step aside for Momoko
