Shin Reyon Densetsu: Mou Hitori no Flair
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Whatever Ternel is, three hundred years wasn't long enough to keep her contained — she's back, and the world clearly wasn't ready for her the first time around. Now she's back, and she's not just after conquest. She wants to deliver suffering and 'unworldly pleasures' to mankind, which tells you pretty quickly what kind of fantasy OVA this is. Standing between her and that goal are Baron Zeke, a warrior named Neris, and a scrappy girl called Flair. The setup is classic late-90s dark fantasy: ancient evil resurfaces, unlikely group of heroes pushes back, and things get very adult very fast. The world-building is light but functional — there's enough of a backstory to give Ternel's return some weight, and the character dynamics between the three protagonists have an interesting tension to them. The animation carries that distinctive 1999 aesthetic, rough around the edges but with real personality in the character designs. If you've watched La Blue Girl or Demon Beast Invasion and you're comfortable with that territory, this fits neatly into the same late-90s fantasy-horror-adult genre. It's a single OVA episode, so it doesn't overstay its welcome — it drops you into this world, introduces the conflict, and delivers exactly what it promises without padding. Don't go in expecting deep lore or character development, but as a compact dark fantasy OVA from that era, it knows what it is and commits to it.
