SHIMONETA: A Boring World Where the Concept of Dirty Jokes Doesn't Exist
Oshimeter
Synopsis
"SHIMONETA" takes place in a future where coarse language is outlawed, and public morals are strictly enforced. Tanukichi Okuma, a new student at a prestigious school, finds himself entangled with SOX, a clandestine organization led by the charismatic Ayame Kajou. Blackmailed into participating, Tanukichi is thrust into a world of "obscene acts of terrorism" aimed at challenging the government's oppressive regulations. The series explores themes of censorship, freedom of expression, and the absurdity of a society that has suppressed its natural impulses. Tanukichi's predicament is further complicated by his feelings for the student council president, adding a layer of personal conflict to the already chaotic situation.
