Shiiba-san no Ura no Kao. with Imouto Lip

Synopsis
In a Japanese high school, a plain forgettable guy and Shiiba — a beautiful girl everyone admires from a distance but nobody dares approach — are both loners. That distance is exactly what makes their sudden connection interesting. When Shiiba pulls him aside into an empty room, it's the kind of moment that shouldn't happen to someone like him, and the show leans into that tension between the ordinary and the unexpected. This is a one-episode OVA from 2014, so it's a quick, contained story rather than something you sink hours into. The appeal here is less about plot complexity and more about atmosphere — the character designs are expressive, the animation holds up well for its format, and there's a bit more attention to the psychological awkwardness of two isolated people finding each other than you might expect from the genre. It's not trying to be deep, but it's not purely mechanical either. If you've watched something like Kanojo x Kanojo x Kanojo or Aneki... My Sweet Elder Sister and appreciated when these OVAs put a little effort into character framing before getting to the point, this sits comfortably in that space. It's adapted from a manga, which gives it slightly more grounded character work than a purely original production would. Going in with modest expectations is the right call — it's a short, decent entry in the genre, nothing more.
