Seikon no Aria
Oshimeter
Synopsis
There's a plague called the Incubus Disease that turns people into monsters, and the only ones who can fight it are holy warriors called Exosisters — women marked with divine stigmata who use sacred rituals to purify the infected. Aria is a rookie Exosister heading to the Great Cathedral to take on the disease at its source, and her method of healing involves intimate, ritualistic encounters with the afflicted. She treats it as genuinely holy work, which gives the whole thing this weird tension between devotion and eroticism that's more interesting than it has any right to be. This is a 2025 OVA from Studio Majin, adapted from a visual novel, and it leans hard into that religious-meets-explicit territory. The animation quality is solid — character designs are detailed, movement is fluid, and the world has this gothic cathedral aesthetic that actually sells the setting. It's not just window dressing; the supernatural lore around the disease and the Exosisters gives the story a backbone that keeps things from feeling purely gratuitous. If you've been into stuff like Bible Black or Taimanin Asagi and want something with a similar blend of supernatural plotting and mature content but with a more devotional, almost reverent tone, this hits that niche pretty well. Fans of Aneki no Kounai Kaikinbi might also appreciate the production values here. It's unapologetically what it is, and within that lane, it's put together with more care than you'd expect.
