📖 SYNOPSIS

In 2017, advancements in bioengineering lead to the creation of Vanguards, highly effective but short-lived soldiers used in a global arms race. Liuli, a Vanguard nearing the end of her lifespan due to her service, is given a final mission: to rescue a hostage from a civilian facility. This mission is a challenge for Liuli, who is only trained for combat.

During the mission, she discovers the hostage-taker is a former Vanguard named Zhongrong Zhou, who is demanding the government hand over the "son of Eden." Liuli, disgusted by Zhou's actions, views him as a disgrace to their kind. This encounter sets the stage for a battle between the two Vanguards, highlighting the moral complexities of their existence and the consequences of their bioengineered lives. The story explores themes of mortality, the ethics of warfare, and the dehumanizing effects of advanced weaponry.
