"Sakura Taisen Special" is a revised version of episode 9 from the original TV series. This alternate episode was created to address content-related issues present in the initial broadcast. The revised episode replaced the original in all future airings and home video releases, becoming the definitive version for most viewers. However, a limited edition DVD box set released in 2006 uniquely contained the original, unaltered version of the episode. This special episode offers a different perspective on the established narrative, reflecting the producers' efforts to refine the content for broader audiences.
