Synopsis
After receiving a terminal diagnosis and losing everything worth holding onto, Fang Bailu gets cryogenically frozen as a last resort — and wakes up a thousand years later in a world that somehow mashed together cyberpunk tech and ancient Chinese cultivation. Think neon-lit cityscapes where people augment themselves with implants but also train to harness spiritual energy and wield swords. He's still dealing with the fallout of his illness, still fundamentally out of place, and now there's a looming catastrophe: some mysterious immortal figure is on the verge of resurrection, and nobody seems ready for what that means. So Bailu, a man from an era with none of these powers, has to figure out how to survive and push back against a fate that was never supposed to be his. The whole thing is an ONA based on a web novel, produced by Studio ORCEN, and the tone leans heavily into action-packed set pieces with enough world-building underneath to keep things grounded. The fusion of cyber and cultivation isn't just aesthetic — it actually shapes how the power systems and conflicts work, which gives it a distinct flavor. If you've been into stuff like Thunderbolt Fantasy or Jian Xian Zai Ci, this hits a similar nerve but with a sci-fi twist layered on top. And if Xian Feng Jian Yu Lu caught your attention, the cultivation side here carries that same energy. It's a cool concept that commits to its weirdness.
