Synopsis
After being stood up for a movie date, marketing employee Fumihiko Matsumaru is about to throw away his tickets when he is stopped by a girl who implores him to let her accompany him instead. Thanks to his upbeat and eccentric companion Aka Onda, an aspiring voice actress, Fumihiko enjoys his evening. While walking home together, they find out that they live in the same neighborhood. Mere hours later, Fumihiko wakes up from a nightmare and hears sirens outside his window. Going outside to check the situation, he sees that Aka's apartment has burned down, along with all her possessions. Fumihiko invites the distressed Aka to stay at his place, leading to them sleeping together. In the aftermath of that fateful night, their personal and professional lives become inextricably intertwined. Not only do they begin living together platonically despite their one-night stand, they also discover that Aka will be voicing the mascot Fumihiko designed for his company's newest product. While trying to keep their live-in relationship under wraps for fear of scrutiny, the two begin to support each other throughout the difficulties in their respective careers.

Nothing much I can say but peak! My only complaint in this ep, or I must mean, in the overall series, was that every episode has passed by sooo quickly! I hope to see more of this episode in the future. The duration should be 24 mins long per ep, but it's way tooo short, and it's only 9 eps, which should have been 20+! I really like this series, such an underrated one! It was a good catch, particularly if you want a romance, slice-of-life, drama, comedy anime. 10/10 for me!
I really like this anime! It was short but definitely remarkable! Peak romance! The ending was just a chef's kiss. The animation, tone, visuals, OSTs, VAs, plot—everything was just perfect! I couldn't complain more except that it was just too short of an episode! I wanted S2 so badly. I will watch the specials and probably read the manga, too.
That ending scene literally took my breath away. It was a suffocating situation for Matsumaru, but Aka fell in between that it really felt hard. The gloomy visuals really conveyed the same feeling Matsumaru had. The tone was somber and the mood was just painful and difficult for me to watch.
OMG. My only complaint was the episode was tooo short! I want more of this peak romance! Aka and Matsuharu were awkward but were too cute. The plot was sooo absorbing that I always checked on how many minutes before it ends. The manager was the best! But every time I watch Hatakeda, the resemblance of Reiner + Jugo comes to mind.
This was an emotional episode. Seeing Aka crying that much was heartbreaking to watch. The first half was playful and hilarious, but got chaotic at that halfway mark. The plot was a little hectic of what had happened and from that commotion, the tension was at high stakes. The intensity got pretty high and seeing Aka and Matsuharu in that state was a bit saddening. Truly, the emotions were perfectly conveyed.
This ep was pretty tough, particularly regarding Aka's personal struggles. The tone was definitely disheartening at first, but as the plot progressed, the mood became insightful and motivated. Aka's trying to show her determination and versatility professionally was refreshing to see from the beginning that I still don't know much about her. Giving Matsuhara credit for being calm, though.
It was quite a cute episode, especially in that ending scene. The visuals were cinematic and the color palette was vibrant. Some of the backgrounds have this pastel color palette, too. The coloring was inconsistent, but that gave flavors to the plot. The voices were crisp and made this ep a remarkable marking point of appreciation for VAs, particularly on Aka's. The switching tone from her to Audrey was superb!
The ep was pretty decent and the pacing becomes a little slower. There was a bit of tension between Matsumaru, but Aka was such a considerate character. That was really cool of her. The animation was great, so as the voices behind these characters. I really appreciate the seiyuus much more now, and I'm glad that this short series was all about their field of work. Matsumaru was starting to show his true colors since the previous ep.
Omaeki! The pace was much better that way. Couldn't stop laughing at that ending scene, though! The plot was somehow predictable but the excitement was rather thrilling. I really like the compelling story so far; it was interesting and anxious of what will happen next. The animation and artwork reminded me of Toradora, especially Matsumaru as Ryuuji with that hair and eyes.
To be honest, what Fumihiko did in this episode has definitely put him in my bad books. Like everyone else, I’ve had my share of bad days, and what happened to Fumihiko in the previous episode was more than just a bad day. However, his actions in this episode were still unacceptable, especially considering that he went against what he promised back in Ep 7. For that, he definitely deserves a good punch in the face. My only complaint about this series is that I wish the story had more time to flesh itself out and give some of the other characters their own moments to shine. It would have been better if this was a 24 minute episode even if it only has 9 episodes.
What happened in this episode is rather predictable, but at the same time, you can’t help but worry about the two of them. This episode really puts what Fumihiko said to Aka in the previous episode to the test.
Watching this episode reminded me a lot of the scene with Sein in Episode 17 of Sousou no Frieren. However, Yoshioka is also a good substitute for Sein in their case 🤭
The episode starts out funny and lighthearted, but things get pretty heavy toward the end, as the events of this episode have them reflecting on where they currently stand with each other.
If you’ve watched Koe de Oshigoto!, you’ll probably notice that the job Aka takes on in this episode is pretty similar to what they do in that anime. This episode also brings back the comedy that was missing from the previous episode, mainly through the misunderstandings and Fumihiro’s reactions. Fumihiro also does a great job helping Aka with her job, showing how well the two are starting to work together.
This episode has Fumihiko and Aka working together on the same job, and it was nice seeing them achieve a small win together, especially considering how hard they have worked. Their relationship also continues to develop steadily throughout the episode.
This episode gives Fumihiko the chance to learn more about Aka, while also giving viewers more insight into her work as a voice actor. It also really shows how well Sakai Kanako fits the role, as her performance feels very fitting for the character. It honestly feels like a shame that this is only a 13-minute anime. The pacing feels carefully handled so far, and I feel like the story could benefit from having more time to develop.
The previous episode already made it pretty obvious, with Aka constantly talking about voice acting, but this episode further gives the impression that this is going to be one of those voice-acting-focused anime. Unlike the previous episode, this one doesn’t feel like it’s rushing through the story. As a Romance and Comedy, this episode mostly focuses on the comedy part while the romance side has yet to come into play.
This is one of Shaft’s earlier works though unfortunately, it doesn’t have the signature Shaft head tilt since the series wasn’t directed by Akiyuki Shinbo. That said, the way the male and female MCs met and how the story developed in this episode sure were surreal. The story also feels like it progresses quite quickly, making some parts feel a little rushed. Still, the OP is rather cute and is one of the highlights of the series.
Just stumbled upon this rare gem! What a waste! It should have a longer duration and to adapt into a regular series! This was a great first ep! Totally absorbing and realistic. The characters were interesting and will make you easily hooked! It had never crossed my mind to have the introductions that late. The animation and the simple visuals at the end were a treasure, too. Overall, it was a 10/10 for me.
