📖 SYNOPSIS

"DNA Qualia" presents a unique animated world populated by substances imbued with consciousness. These inorganic entities, disconnected from a traditional sense of self, wander through environments, navigating points and surfaces. The core premise revolves around the nature of these beings: they are convinced of their individual completeness, despite their fragmented and inanimate origins. The animation, a graduate work from Tokyo University of the Arts, Graduate School of Film and New Media, Department of Animation, explores themes of identity, perception, and the very definition of existence within a reality where consciousness has taken root in the most unexpected of places. The setting appears to be a world defined by its inorganic nature, where the infected substances interact and perhaps struggle with their newfound awareness.
