This is a kids' TV special from 2021, originally airing on NHK, and the tone is exactly what you'd expect from that pedigree: gentle, wholesome, and quietly charming. The animation has this distinctive look that gives everything a handcrafted quality, and the character designs lean into that playful anthropomorphic style where you're not entirely sure what species anyone is, but it doesn't matter because they're endearing anyway.
