A flawless, sweeping epic that refuses to give easy answers. Hayao Miyazaki crafts a world where there are no clear villains—only conflicting perspectives driven by survival, progress, and tradition. The conflict between Iron Town and the forest spirits is handled with incredible empathy and nuance. Coupled with a hauntingly beautiful score and stunning hand-drawn animation, it stands as an absolute masterpiece of cinema.
