Princess Knight☆Catue
Oshimeter
Synopsis
When a demon army overruns her kingdom and General Ginyol seizes her parents, Catue's only path to saving them is agreeing to endure seven days of his depravity. That's the entire deal — no armies, no last-minute rescues, just Catue holding on through sheer willpower while the clock ticks down. It's a dark fantasy setup that doesn't try to be anything other than what it is: a 3-episode OVA from 2010 that leans hard into mature content within a classic sword-and-sorcery world. The kingdom of Dragundaala has this dragon-lineage mythology running underneath everything, which gives the setting more texture than you'd expect from something this short. The power dynamic between Catue and Ginyol is the whole show — she's not helpless, she's making a calculated sacrifice, and that distinction matters for how the story frames her. If you've come across dark fantasy with heavy sacrifice themes like Sacrificial Princess and the King of Beasts, or older titles that blend heroic archetypes with uncomfortable situations, this fits somewhere in that neighborhood — just with explicit content and considerably less optimism. The animation from Studio 9 Maiami has a decent fantasy aesthetic, and the soundtrack actually commits to the grim atmosphere. Go in knowing exactly what this is, and it delivers on its premise without much pretense.
