Princess Holiday: Korogaru Ringo Tei Senya Ichiya
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Bard Cliff is wandering through the streets of his hometown when he stumbles across a girl being chased by soldiers. Turns out she's not just any runaway — she's Princess Leticia, heir to the Symphonia Kingdom, and she's absolutely done with castle life. She wants to know what it feels like to be a regular person, so Cliff sets her up at the Rolling Apple Inn under a fake name, where she starts working tables as 'Leticia Apple.' What follows is a medieval fantasy about identity and what it actually means to be free when your whole life has been decided for you. This 2-episode OVA from 2004 is based on a visual novel, and it carries that DNA — character-focused, dialogue-driven, with a slow-burn tension underneath the lighter surface moments. The medieval setting is genuinely atmospheric, with a soundtrack that mixes traditional instrumentation in ways that feel grounded rather than generic fantasy background noise. Worth noting: this is a hentai title, so go in with clear expectations. If you liked Spice and Wolf for its medieval world-building and the dynamic between a sharp-witted woman and a more grounded male lead, this covers similar emotional territory. Fans of Maoyuu Maou Yuusha who enjoy fantasy stories with underlying political and social tension might also find something here. It is short, it moves fast, and it does not overstay its welcome.
