Price Of A Secret

Synopsis
Working as a school advisor, Hayakawa Rena stumbles onto something she was never supposed to see — her younger sister Mina in a compromising situation with a male teacher. Instead of gaining leverage over the situation, Rena quickly finds herself on the wrong end of it, blackmailed into a position she has no clean way out of. What starts as a single moment of bad luck spirals into something much darker, where the people who should have the least power end up holding all of it. This 2-episode OVA from Peak Hunt, based on the original manga, leans hard into that uncomfortable power imbalance. The character designs are detailed enough that the emotional weight of each scene actually lands, and the soundtrack keeps things tense rather than letting the atmosphere go flat. It's not a feel-good watch — the tone is consistently dark, and it doesn't soften the edges of what coercion looks like inside an institution that's supposed to protect people. If you've watched Shoujo-tachi no Sadism or Kansen: Inyoku no Rensa and appreciated how they build dread through situation rather than just shock value, this sits in similar territory. Fans of Kuroinu will also recognize the dynamic of a capable woman being systematically stripped of her agency. It's a short commitment at two episodes, and it delivers exactly the grim, psychologically heavy experience it sets up from the first scene.
