Synopsis
When his parents head overseas for work, a guy moves to a quiet lakeside town, essentially starting from scratch in a place he barely knows. The town used to be home to his mother, so there's a faint sense of familiarity underneath the unfamiliarity, and almost immediately, he's pulled into conversations with the locals, including a fisherwoman who wastes no time asking him about his love life and nudging him toward making the most of this new chapter. That's pretty much the spark that kicks everything off. Pretty x Cation 2 The Animation is a two-episode adult OVA from 2016, adapted from the visual novel by T-Rex. It leans into the cozy, low-stakes romantic setup: less drama, more warmth and intimacy. The lakeside setting gives it a calm, unhurried atmosphere, and the character animations have a notably fluid, expressive quality thanks to the E-mote system the source material was known for. It's a short watch, so there's no slow build; things move with purpose. If you've watched something like Amagami SS or Seiren and appreciated that format of focused, self-contained romantic arcs with a grounded male lead, the vibe here rhymes.
