Pororo: Underwater Adventure

A pint-sized penguin and his friends decide to become ocean heroes, and it goes about as well as you'd expect when there's a giant sea monster involved. Pororo: Underwater Adventure is a 2025 movie from Ocon Studio where Pororo, Crong, and the whole gang visit the stronghold of the Red Hunters — a group of underwater guardians led by the mysterious Captain Murrock. Things start off exciting as they dive into this colorful undersea world, but it doesn't take long before sea garbage, aggressive sharks, and a terrifying creature called Seatus turn their adventure into a rescue mission. When Seatus swallows some of their friends, Pororo and Crong team up with Murrock to hunt the monster down. But here's where it gets interesting for a kids' movie — Murrock's real plan isn't exactly heroic, and Pororo has to figure out what being a true hero actually means. If your kids loved Finding Nemo or Ponyo, this hits a similar sweet spot of underwater wonder mixed with real stakes. There's a Jonah-and-the-whale vibe to the whole thing that keeps it from feeling too safe. The animation is bright and fluid, the friendship and teamwork themes land without being preachy, and at movie length it doesn't overstay its welcome. A solid pick for younger viewers who want adventure with a little more bite than the usual Pororo episodes, kind of like The Little Mermaid's ocean world but through a penguin-sized lens.
