A sad, yet beautiful episode about a father's love.
If you ask me which is the heaviest episode in Pluto, Episode 6 would be my answer. A lot happens in this episode, from revealing the true image of Pluto and featuring amazing fights with Gesicht, to delivering Gesicht's tragic yet beautiful final scene.
As we know Pluto anime had only 8 episodes, the episode 6 is actually entering the final part of it, so the story will be logically far more aggressive than all the previous episodes. You may feel it is hard to catch up, or even feel the tempo is becoming weird, but the changes are actually something the anime really needs.
The meaning of robots becoming parents.
It is not only hard for us to imagine robots having kids, but it is also something the robots in Pluto struggle to comprehend. For beings that possess eternal life and bodies that never age or die, having children is what truly allows them to become human. This is why Gesicht and his wife were so desperately looking forward to having a child of their own.
While it was a beautiful moment for Gesicht and his wife to experience the joy of parenthood, the world of Pluto remains full of darkness. Just as they were celebrating and fully immersing themselves in that happiness, someone acted out of pure malice to destroy it. This leads us to reflect: for humanity to build a better future, perhaps it isn't about obtaining a stronger body, but rather cultivating a stronger mind capable of handling all kinds of emotions. No matter how powerful our bodies may be, if we cannot control our emotions, that strength is ultimately futile.
