Synopsis
Behind the counter of a rental video shop, Hosaka Ippei leads an unremarkable life, but beneath that mundane surface he harbors a deeply uncomfortable obsession: he collects rape-themed hentai and manga, and his nightly walks through a dark park aren't exactly innocent. One night he encounters an unconscious girl named Sally, and when she wakes up, she turns the tables on him with blackmail. From that point, the two end up cohabitating, and Sally, who claims she can identify women who secretly want to be dominated: points him toward two targets: his friend Chidori and an idol singer named Kouno Sakura. That's the setup for this two-episode OVA from CLOCKUP and Collaboration Works, the same people behind Euphoria and Eroge! H mo Game mo Kaihatsu Zanmai. If you've seen Euphoria, you already know this studio doesn't flinch, and Please Rape Me sits in similar territory: dark, morally uncomfortable, built around a protagonist whose motivations you're never really meant to root for without friction. Like Kuroinu, it leans hard into transgressive fantasy without apologizing for it. Based on a CLOCKUP visual novel, the story carries more psychological framing than a lot of comparable titles, centering the obsession and the internal justifications behind it rather than just stringing scenes together. Whether that framing lands for you depends entirely on your tolerance for this genre. Go in knowing what it is.

It felt so awkward when Ippei messed up in the park and I actually liked how Sari just casually decided to become his roommate after he tried to attack her
Chidori asking to join the shop was such a weird twist of fate for Ippei and the way he just froze up thinking about their past together made for a solid cliffhanger
I was actually surprised by the art style because Clockup usually goes for something a bit grittier but Chidori looks great and her character design is top tier, the whole setup in the rental shop felt so nostalgic and I really liked how Sari is basically pushing him to follow through with his weird obsession instead of being a normal roommate
Watching Ippei completely lose it in the park was actually hilarious and Sari is definitely going to be a problem for him and his high school crush
Sari just moving in after he failed in the park was such a weird start and the animation when Chidori showed up at the shop looked better than you would expect
The transition from the dark park scene to the bright video store was such a strange shift and watching Ippei struggle to keep his dark thoughts in check while helping Yuuma was pretty gripping even if the premise is totally messed up and the way Sari just manipulates him behind the scenes seems like she has her own agenda for him
The pacing felt a bit fast when Sari just decided to move in after one encounter, but the setup with Yuuma having a secret fetish is definitely a wild hook
I found the premature ejaculation scene in the park to be such a weird way to start a show but it definitely sets the tone for how pathetic Ippei is
You can tell this is from the same people who did Euphoria because the character designs are so distinct and Ippei has that same unhinged energy in his eyes
The visual quality is surprisingly high for something this dark, and the soundtrack really builds up the tension during that park scene at the start
I was fascinated by the contrast between his creepy internal monologues and how normal he tries to act while talking to Yuuma about becoming a shop member
I think Ippei is one of the most disgusting main characters ever and seeing him mess up his first attempt at a crime made me laugh because he is so incompetent
Sari is such a weird character and her telling him to go after his old classmate Yuuma felt like a massive trap that he is too dumb to see
The animation style really echoes Euphoria and the way Ippei just loses it when he sees Sari in the park was actually hilarious and pathetic at the same time
That moment when Yuuma walks into the video store and recognizes him was so tense because you just know he is already planning something terrible for their date
The animation during the date scene actually looked surprisingly good for a budget title like this, and it was pretty wild how Sari just convinced him that Yuuma has a secret fetish. It makes the whole dynamic feel way more manipulative and messed up than your standard series and I am curious if Yuuma is actually into it or if Sari is lying.
I watched this because of the studio and the art is actually decent and that park scene with the mystery girl was so weirdly handled but it set the tone fast
I think Ippei is one of the most pathetic characters I have seen in a long time because the way he ruined that first encounter in the park was just embarrassing to watch
Seeing Yuuma show up at the video store after all those years made the tension spike and that weird Sari girl is definitely pulling the strings behind the scenes
The premise is pretty dark even for this genre and Ippei just ends up being a total creep immediately so you really have to be into that specific thing for this to work
