This seems to be the setup for the overall atmosphere of the second half of the series, new players are introduced, as well as their purpose and objectives. Responsibility is the overarching theme of this episode, as many of the cast are doing what they do because they hold themselves accountable to the welfare of others, or it's simply their duty to be there.
