Overflow

A forgotten pudding purchase and the wrong lotion are all it takes to set Kazushi Sudou's entire plot in motion. Now his childhood friend Ayane is climbing into the bath with him, and dragging her sister Kotone along for good measure. That's essentially the whole setup, and Overflow commits to it fully across 8 short episodes. Each episode runs around 7 minutes, so the entire thing wraps up faster than a standard anime episode count would suggest. Studio Hokiboshi adapted this from manga with a dual release, censored and uncensored versions, so you know exactly what kind of show this is going in. The tone stays light and comedic rather than dramatic. There's no heavy emotional tension or slow-burn character development being teased here; it leans into the absurdity of the situation and the longstanding familiarity between these three people who grew up together. Ayane is the pushier, more mischievous one while Kotone plays things quieter, and that contrast drives most of the dynamic between them. If you've watched something like Ane Yome Quartet or Imouto Paradise and wanted something with a tighter runtime and a simpler premise, this fits that niche. It's not trying to be Ane Koi in terms of emotional stakes, it's a quick, breezy watch that does exactly what it advertises without overcomplicating things.
