Ace's initial coldness towards Luffy, even when my boy just wants to be friends, really stung me. It's gut-wrenching to witness their difficult early days, especially with the shadow of Marineford looming over everything, and I can't help but feel Ace was trying to push him away to avoid future pain. Still, knowing Garp tossed them to Dadan for a "tough love" upbringing, it's wild how it somehow created the strongest bond between them.
