I've noticed that some of these staring/face off scenes are a tad too long. This was just another mission but damn, it was pretty sad. They set it up perfectly so that we'd feel for them. The melancholic moments of Kirika and her flashbacks keep popping up. I don't know if it means something or not, but the timing of her eyes to the incident is pretty good for it to just be a coincidence.
