No Waifu No Life!
Oshimeter
Synopsis
When Murai, a former high school baseball coach, crosses paths again with one of his students — now a newlywed woman — it dredges up a past that left a lasting mark on her. That reunion is where this two-episode OVA kicks off, and it sets the tone for what the series is doing: using an anthology format to tell separate, self-contained stories with a mature edge. Each episode brings a different scenario to the table, so there's no single ongoing plot to follow — just distinct setups with their own characters and tensions. The title plays on otaku culture and the 'waifu' concept, though the show leans more into drama and explicit content than straight-up comedy or parody. If you've watched something like Shoujo Sect: Innocent Lovers and appreciated how it balances character dynamics with its adult content, this scratches a similar itch. It's not trying to be a deep character study, but the anthology approach keeps things from feeling repetitive across its short runtime. At just two episodes, it's a quick watch — closer in spirit to Bible Black in terms of pacing and self-contained storytelling. Produced by Blue Bread and adapted from manga source material, it has a reasonably clean visual presentation for the genre. Go in knowing what it is — an adult OVA with some dramatic framing — and it delivers on that without overstaying its welcome.
