Oshimeter
Synopsis
Sora, a homeless man, is already having a rough way to start when he turns up half-dead outside a hospital. Nurse Yuu Yagami pulls him in from the cold, and he ends up in the care of Reika Mikage, the hospital's director, a woman who has a proposition rather than just a treatment plan. She wants Sora for a 30-day experimental drug trial, and since he has no family, no ties, and apparently nothing to lose, he agrees. From there, things get complicated fast. The medical setting gives this OVA a distinct psychological edge that separates it from others in the genre. There's a power dynamic built into every interaction: patient, caretaker, authority figure, and the story leans into that tension rather than ignoring it. If you're already familiar with the original Night Shift Nurses or Night Shift Nurses: Kranke, this three-episode follow-up will feel like a natural continuation with a slightly darker, more experimental tone. Night Shift Nurses 2 fans will also find familiar ground here. It's adapted from a visual novel, so the character writing carries more weight than you might expect from a short OVA run. Don't go in expecting a lighthearted watch. the atmosphere is clinical and deliberate, which is kind of the point. If medical settings, morally grey authority figures, and psychological undertones are your thing, this one delivers on that specific vibe.
