Every prank seems like a good idea to Haruto, a scheming middle schooler — right up until it blows up in his face. This 3-episode ONA, adapted from the first three chapters of the manga on Saikyou Jump's YouTube channel, drops you into a chaotic Japanese middle school where Haruto's schemes constantly go sideways, dragging his classmates — including the reserved, studious Aiko and a rotating cast of weirdos — into increasingly ridiculous situations. The first episode alone has his latest stunt backfiring so hard it basically rewrites the social dynamics of the entire class, and it only spirals from there. The vibe here is pure school comedy with a lot of visual gag energy. Think quick-hit slapstick and absurd escalation rather than slow-burn humor. The animation has this fun blend of traditional and more stylized modern techniques that makes the physical comedy land harder than you'd expect from a short-form web series. There's also a weirdly catchy opening that sets the whole tone before you even get to the jokes. If you liked the surreal everyday humor of Nichijou or the chaotic friend-group energy of Daily Lives of High School Boys, this scratches a similar itch, just in smaller doses. It's three short episodes, so the time commitment is basically nothing. Good for when you want something light and dumb in the best way — no stakes, no drama, just kids being ridiculous.
