I guess in this type of situation, one can't help but be conflicted snd feel lost. That's the reason why a person sought company, to ease the burden. But what if they unknowingly just make it worse? This is the whole theme of this episode thst they are seemingly trying to push the idea with, on the main character no less, that fighting in this cruel battle might only be the viable purpose in life and rejecting it is futile. This really sets the stage, or at lesst the tone of the things to come. And from the looks of things, this is not going to end soon.
