After consuming a demonic entity, his body mutates, giving him powers he never asked for and dragging him into a hidden layer of the city where monsters feed on human weakness. Now he's hunting evil, not because he's some chosen hero, but because it's the only way to stay alive. The tone here leans dark and morally gray. This isn't a power fantasy where the protagonist grins after every fight. There's real weight to what's happening to him — the mutation costs something, and the line between hunter and monster gets thin fast. The urban fantasy setting grounds everything in recognizable city life, which makes the supernatural stuff hit harder when it shows up. The animation style mixes gritty street-level realism with some genuinely unsettling creature design, and the soundtrack keeps the tension wound tight throughout. If you liked Tokyo Ghoul's premise of an ordinary person forced into a monstrous existence, or the body horror tension of Parasyte, this scratches a similar itch.
