Synopsis

A pair of nameless twins arrive on a strange planet, searching for a mother they've never met. That's already a haunting premise, but here's the thing — the world they're traveling through is literally built from their mother's grief, and it's falling apart around them. This is a movie that uses its fantasy setting the way a poet uses metaphor. The twins are guided through surreal, shifting landscapes that feel less like a planet and more like the inside of someone's sorrow. As they get closer to their mother, the terrain cracks and crumbles, because whatever she's carrying emotionally is so heavy it warps reality itself. The whole journey works as this deeply melancholic exploration of what it means to exist, to be born into someone else's pain, and whether connection can survive that kind of weight. The vibe is atmospheric and dreamlike — slow, deliberate, and soaked in emotion rather than action. If you liked the quiet existential dread of Haibane Renmei, the way Made in Abyss makes its world feel beautiful and punishing at the same time, or the surreal reality-bending of Sonny Boy, this sits comfortably in that space. It's an original film, not adapted from anything, so you're going in completely blind. Don't expect answers handed to you. This feels like the kind of movie that lingers in your head for days, asking you to sit with its sadness rather than resolve it.
