Mobile Suit Gundam: Cucuruz Doan's Island

I am grateful to be able to watch this film, because the plot is very strong. Although the story of Cucuruz Doan is also in the 1979 series and with the same premise, but the plot is very different. In this film, the story is completely reinterpreted and developed in more detail. Not only in terms of story, even in terms of characters I see a slight difference, especially in the character of Bright who is not too stiff a la military. I also like the character of Amuro here who is calmer. The military nuance is much less, more emphasis on the life of Cucuruz Doan and the children he cares for.

una trama sencilla aunque la animacion hace que valga totalmente la pena verla. Los personajes como Amuro y Doan representan dualidades muy interesantes que, aunque ya se exploran en otros animes, en esta pelicula sin duda siento que se remarca bastante eso. Valio la pena verla para pasar el rato, los Zaku me parecen extraordinarios todavia lo que tambien llama la atencion la mayoria de las veces

A nice pace of storyline...good characters development and bond throughout the series...nice old anime that had been refreshed for a new generation...good visualization of an action packed fighting scene...An iconic mecha of anime world...good dialogue used..

Si sos fan del Universal Century y querés ver una carta de amor a la serie de 1979 con animación moderna de primer nivel, la vas a disfrutar un montón por pura nostalgia y apartado técnico. Ahora, si esperás una película con la escala épica o el peso argumental de Gundam Hathaway o Char's Counterattack , tené en cuenta que esto es, en esencia, un episodio de relleno muy bien animado y con mucho corazón.

Even though the art style isn't exactly to my taste, I do like that it stayed faithful to the classic Gundam look while making a few refined details. The animation was pretty fluid, especially during most of the explosion and action sequences. The pacing did feel a little slow at times because the movie focused more on storytelling rather than constant action, so the light hearted and emotional moments really added so much more depth to the movie. Cucuruz was easily the highlight for me because learning about his past and seeing what he would do in his scenes made this movie much more enjoyable to watch.
