Milky☆Subway: The Galactic Limited Express Movie

After getting nabbed for violating space traffic laws, two strangers are sentenced to cleaning a beat-up old interplanetary train. That's how Chiharu, a superhuman, and Makina, a cyborg, end up scrubbing the Milky☆Subway — except the train decides to launch itself into deep space while they're still on it. Now they're stuck with a crew of fellow misfits including Akane, Kanata, Kurt, and Max, hurtling through the galaxy on a rickety locomotive nobody asked to ride. This movie compiles the original short-form series from Shin-Ei Animation with new scenes added, so you're getting the whole chaotic journey in one sitting. The vibe is light, absurd, and genuinely fun — think community service in space where everything that can go wrong does, and nobody's really qualified to fix it. The CG animation has this cool retro-meets-futuristic look that gives the whole thing its own visual identity.
