Synopsis
Selling wood in a remote village, high school kid Takumi Kusuki lives a quiet life, not exactly the backdrop you'd expect for a story about unresolved feelings and old memories catching up with you. Then Satsuki shows up. She's his childhood friend, once a seriously talented basketball player until an injury cut that path short. Takumi was there for her when it happened, and she's never really forgotten that. Now she's back, and things get complicated fast when she stumbles onto his stash of adult magazines and decides teasing him about it is a perfectly reasonable way to spend her time. What starts as playful ribbing between two people who've known each other forever slowly shifts into something with more weight to it. The rural setting genuinely adds something here: there's an intimacy to the isolation that wouldn't land the same way in a city backdrop. The character designs are detailed, and the animation holds up across both episodes. If you've watched something like Aneki no Kounai Kaikinbi or Boku no Yayoi-san and appreciated stories that at least try to give their characters a shared history before things escalate, this hits a similar note. It's a two-episode OVA from Blue bread, adapted from a manga, so it's a short commitment. Don't go in expecting a slow burn drama, but the childhood friend dynamic gives it a little more texture than most entries in the genre.

The short hair look on Satsuki is great and her energy when she was taunting Kusuki was my favorite part of the whole episode
That transition from her teasing him about the stash to actually getting serious caught me off guard and she is definitely top tier tomboy material
The wood seller setting is a bit weird but the animation for Satsuki is decent even if the escalation felt way too fast for a childhood friend
I really liked how they used the basketball injury background, and it made the scene with the magazines feel more personal
Satsuki being a tomboy basketball player is such a good choice and the way she just started messing with him over those magazines was everything
Childhood friend stories usually take forever to get anywhere but this one went straight for it as soon as the magazine came out
Satsuki was teasing him way too much and she definitely got what she was looking for by the end of the day
I really wasn't expecting the tomboy childhood friend to be this bold right from the start of the first episode. Usually these stories drag out the teasing for way too long but Satsuki just went for it once she saw those magazines. Her design with the short hair and the athletic build looked great and I liked the remote village setting.
Satsuki poking at him until he finally snapped was easily the highlight of the episode and her tan lines were a nice touch
Takumi being a wood seller in a remote village is such a random job but it makes the whole setting feel cozy before things get crazy with Satsuki
It's cool how Satsuki is so aggressive after she finds his hidden stash, and the animation during the actual scenes was surprisingly solid for a short.
Satsuki finding that magazine was a total disaster for Takumi but it turned out way better than he probably expected
I think the way Satsuki went from teasing to actually doing it was so quick and I loved the tomboy look she had going on
I was so surprised at how fast things escalated after she found the stash and Satsuki is such a great tomboy character
The basketball injury backstory made the connection between Takumi and Satsuki feel a lot more real and she is definitely the best kind of childhood friend
Those basketball shorts look so good on Satsuki and her acting so bold after she found that porn stash was really funny to watch
The way the wood selling village setting looks actually adds a lot of atmosphere to their interactions and makes Satsuki being so bold even more fun
Watching Satsuki try so hard to get a reaction out of him only to fold first made the whole episode great and the basketball background adds a nice touch
Learning about the accident made me understand why Satsuki is so attached to Takumi and her transition from teasing to actually wanting him was sweet
Satsuki being a tomboy is everything and her teasing him about that magazine stash was hilarious because she ended up being the one who couldn't handle it
