📖 SYNOPSIS

"Meiji Gekken: 1874" is set in Tokyo, 1874, seven years after the fall of the samurai. The story follows Shizuma Orikasa, a former samurai now working as a rickshaw driver. He is desperately searching for his fiancée, Sumie Kanomata, who disappeared during the Boshin War. While going about his daily life, Shizuma unexpectedly thwarts an assassination attempt. This event leads him to join the newly formed police department. As a member of the police, Shizuma must fight against sinister forces that are plotting to destabilize and overthrow the government. The anime explores themes of change, loss, and the struggle to adapt to a new era.
