Synopsis
A clumsy girl with wild red hair, Mary Smith can't do anything right — her words, not mine. After moving to the countryside to live with her Great Aunt Charlotte, she's bored and restless until she follows a color-shifting cat named Tib into the woods. There she finds a mysterious blue flower called 'Fly-by-Night' and an old broomstick, and before she knows it, she's flying through the sky to Endor College, a hidden school for witches. The headmistress and faculty assume she's a gifted new student, and Mary just kind of rolls with it. But the school has secrets, and the magic powering everything isn't quite what it appears to be. This is Studio Ponoc's debut movie, founded by former Studio Ghibli staff, and you can feel that DNA in every frame. The animation is gorgeous — lush forests, sprawling magical architecture, flight sequences that genuinely make your stomach drop. If you liked Kiki's Delivery Service or Spirited Away, this hits a very similar frequency: a young girl thrust into a magical world, figuring out her own courage along the way. It also shares some of that Howl's Moving Castle energy with its whimsical yet slightly unsettling magic. Takatsugu Muramatsu's soundtrack ties it all together with this warm, sweeping score that fits the tone perfectly. It's a cozy, self-contained adventure — one movie, no commitment, just a really pleasant evening.

huyenvu1999★★★★★AnimeI have heard that this movie's director or production has some kind of relationship with Studio Ghibli, and indeed it is. There is so much reminiscence to Studio Ghibli movies and I thoroughly enjoyed it, the plot is good and the animation is decent. I started the movie without any expectation and I'm glad that I have watched it, totally worth the time.

einnaliss2218★★★★★EP 1In this movie, there are few things that make you question a lot since the pacing of story is fast, but overall it is great; Studio Ghibli never disappoints. It is a visually stunning film; it brings a sense of nostalgia, like childhood memories of imagining fairytales and magic
