Mako-chan Kaihatsu Nikki
Oshimeter
Synopsis
When Mako's confession is accepted by Kaoru, what should lead to a simple, sweet setup turns out to be anything but. Except Mako is not exactly shy about what she wants, and Kaoru is scrambling to keep up with a relationship that moves faster than he expected. Complicating things further is Takeshi, Mako's adoptive brother, who lingers at the edges of their romance in ways that feel a little too pointed to ignore. The 4-episode OVA from T-Rex, based on the manga, keeps its focus tight on these three characters and the tension that builds between them. The character designs are detailed and the relationship dynamics are drawn with more attention than you might expect from the genre. It leans into the taboo elements deliberately, so if that's not your thing, go in with eyes open. The tone stays engaging throughout rather than meandering, which helps given the short episode count. If you've watched something like Shoujo Sect and appreciated a romance that doesn't pretend the physical side doesn't exist, this scratches a similar itch. Fans of Kanojo x Kanojo x Kanojo who liked that series' focus on intimate character dynamics over elaborate plotting will probably find this comfortable territory too. It's a short watch, the story wraps within its runtime without overstaying its welcome, and it knows exactly what kind of show it is from the first episode.
