Magical Buffs: The Support Caster Is Stronger Than He Realized!
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Every MMO party has that one support player who keeps everyone's stats maxed out—and gets kicked for not doing enough damage. That's Wim Strauss, a granting caster, basically a walking buff machine, and his garbage teammates decide his support magic is dead weight. They boot him without a second thought. Classic toxic raid group energy. The thing is, Wim actually believes them. Years of being told he's useless have him genuinely convinced his magic doesn't matter, even though his old party starts wiping on dungeon runs the second he's gone. Enter Heidemarie, his childhood friend and member of an elite S-rank party, who recruits him and immediately recognizes what everyone else was too stupid to see: Wim's buffs don't just help, they fundamentally break the power ceiling of anyone he supports. The real hook here isn't just watching his former party eat dirt—though that part is deeply satisfying—it's watching Wim slowly realize he was never the weak link. His biggest enemy isn't a dungeon boss, it's the imposter syndrome baked into him by people who didn't deserve his help. J.C.Staff is handling this TV series adaptation of the web manga, set for 2027. If you liked Banished from the Hero's Party or Beast Tamer, this hits a similar "kicked out, leveled up" nerve, but leans harder into the tactical side of support magic and the emotional recovery from a genuinely toxic environment. It's comfort food with teeth.
