That computer virus shutting down the network looked like something out of an old tech thriller and the atmosphere was great

I did not expect the horror elements to be this heavy, especially right from the start of the mission. The way the virus and the drug are connected makes the world feel really bleak and dangerous. I'm actually curious to see if Kaoru can keep his 100 percent success rate now that the targets are basically coming back to life

Kaoru and his robot partner have a weird dynamic that somehow works for this dark setting

The mystery of the target surviving that first shot was okay but the art looked pretty rough in some shots

I really liked the scene where Alice scanned the crime scene and it felt so retro sci-fi

i am still waiting for kanako to actually remember something about his past and the dialogue about the virus felt a bit clunky

the horror elements caught me off guard and that scene in the dark alley with the target made the whole episode feel much more sinister

the animation was really stiff during the fight and it made the whole robot girl concept feel a bit clunky despite the cool setting

I found the connection between Kanako and his assistant to be the most compelling part, especially when things started getting dangerous during the hit

The way the virus starts taking over the network while Kanako is just trying to finish a standard hit creates a really tense atmosphere. You can tell something is wrong with the world when the targets start ignoring death, and the tech starts glitching out like that. It feels like a very specific kind of retro sci-fi that doesn't get made anymore

the mystery behind the drug is actually interesting and seeing the target survive a direct hit really changed the whole mood of the mission

The robot assistant looks way too innocent for someone helping an assassin and it makes the action scenes feel so much weirder

I was genuinely creeped out when kanako realized his mission was going south. He usually never misses and the confusion on his face was perfect

I did not expect the target to just stand back up like that and it really creeped me out with the way the shadows moved in the background

That computer virus sequence was extremely unsettling and it definitely felt like a throwback to those old school cyberpunk horror shows from the nineties

the adult scenes really distract from the mystery of the drug and it makes the pacing feel sluggish and disjointed

I wasn't expecting this to be so dark with the Nine Heavens drug stuff, but the way Alice helps Kaoru is pretty interesting for an old OVA. The mystery about the target not dying really hooked me early on, and even with the hentai scenes it feels like there is a real plot here about that Xinn virus wrecking everything.

seeing the cybernetic world in the year 2039 was cool and the action scenes with the agents were surprisingly decent

that xinn virus plot feels a bit dated and the way the target keeps coming back to life is kind of weird

I really like how Alice follows Kaoru around and that cyberpunk vibe in Tokyo 2039 is so gritty and dark
