Lovely Day: Boku to Kanojo no Nanoka Kan
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Two cousins, Hazuki and Nao, haven't seen each other in years. They've got one week together at a quiet countryside home before life pulls them apart again — and that's pretty much the entire setup. It's a short OVA, just one episode, so it moves fast and doesn't waste time on anything except the two of them figuring out what they actually mean to each other. The rural setting does a lot of heavy lifting here — isolated, slow-paced, nothing pulling their attention away. It creates this tight, almost claustrophobic intimacy that works well for the kind of story being told. There's a tenderness to it that you might not expect going in, with the emotional undercurrent carrying more weight than the explicit content in some stretches. Being a hentai, that content is obviously present and central, but the framing leans into the complicated feelings between the two rather than just going through the motions. If you've watched something like Kanojo × Kanojo × Kanojo and appreciated how it built some character warmth between the scenes, there's a similar quality here. Fans of short-form intimate stories like Boku no Kanojo ga Majime Sugiru Shojo Bitch na Ken who don't need a sprawling cast might find this hits a similar note. It's not a deep character study, but for a single-episode OVA from Studio 9 Maiami, it's more emotionally grounded than you'd expect.
