"When one talks with a lemon" is an animated work that examines the complexities of communication. The core concept revolves around the disparity between the speaker's intent and the listener's interpretation, much like a printer gradually misaligning an image. This first-year project from the Tokyo University of the Arts' Graduate School of Film and New Media, Department of Animation, employs a variety of techniques to illustrate this theme. The animation utilizes print, digital treatments, and collage to visually represent the subtle shifts and distortions that occur in the transmission and reception of messages. The work aims to portray the inherent gaps in understanding that can arise in everyday conversations.
