To be honest, the story itself isn't that deep. It literally just covers what needs to be covered to prepare for Kenshiro's upcoming story. Although it isn't deep, it has quite a lot of impact on the overall plot and story. I've also enjoyed a lot of scenes, especially the manly battles. That said, the writing isn't that satisfying. The earlier antagonists were pretty much like mobs, and the writing of their characters was also pretty disappointing. I cannot fathom how these people in power act so childishly. It's absurd that they even survived in this chaotic world for so long.

Craftsmanship-wise, I think it's decent given how old this series is. I really like how there's no filter in the animation and visuals at all. If it's brutal, then it's brutal. If it's not, then it's not. As simple as that.

Overall, I'd rate this series a 7/10.
