📖 SYNOPSIS
"Laidbackers" follows four former heroes now living unassuming lives in modern Kyoto. Their tranquil existence is upended by the arrival of a precocious elementary school student. This young child is, in fact, the reincarnated demon king they once defeated. The demon king, now a grade-schooler, immediately begins making serious demands of the heroes. This unexpected intrusion forces the heroes to confront their past and the consequences of their heroic deeds. The anime explores themes of reincarnation, the contrast between past glory and present-day normalcy, and the challenges of dealing with a demanding, yet familiar, foe in an entirely new form. The story is set against the backdrop of the historic city of Kyoto.
